"Momma says, "Hi Bubbas!"

Drew now fills in his own responses for me for what I usually say or what he hopes I will say and it is getting really funny. Here are a few examples:

"Want some chips. 'Momma getchyou some'"

"Want some circle cheese(baby bells). 'Don't have any Bubbas'(what I call him)"

"Somebody broke the track. 'Make new train track, Bubbas'"

"'Just eat it'" (When he is playing with his food)

"'Why you do that!?'" (I was sad that I must say this a lot about his poor choices)

"'Here ya go, Drew'" (giving himself pretzels)

"'No screaming'" (after every time he screams)

"'What happened? Bonk head. It's okay'" (glad he can comfort himself now haha)

"Watch T.V. 'No watch T.V right now'" (This gets said A LOT)

"Show Momma ride bike. 'Show me! Good job, Drew!'" (This also gets said a lot!)

"Momma commin'. 'Momma commin' too, okay!'"

"Thank you Momma. 'You're welcome, Drew'" Guess my manners weren't quick enough for him :)

"'Hows your day?'" (said to Logan when he got home from work, he usually asks him of course :)

He also loves to quote his favorite people in his life:

"Nana says, 'Sweetie pie Pete'"
"Grandma says, 'Bye bye honey!'"
"Grandpa says, 'I like trains!'"
"Dada says, 'Hi Buddy!'"
"Pops says, 'Hi Pal'"
and any other new person he meets we usually end up with a quote of something silly they say :) like "Guy says, '"Nice hat!'" (in Marshalls)

It makes me feel good that I have taught him how to have a conversation, but it is funny that he doesn't seem to want my real answer anymore in case it might be against what he wants :) It is so cute how he says, "Okay!" and it is hard not to go along with him. It also is a eye opener and keeps me on my toes to how I respond to him. I do like being predictable but I like to surprise him sometimes by saying the opposite of what he thinks I will say. I will end with my favorite one from last night. I gave him my bedtime hug and he said, "Sleep good, okay?" which is what I always say. And that cuteness is what makes him 'Bubbas' to me :)

The House that Built Me

I went back home to say bye to my house in Sparta. So many wonderful memories were made there and I was sad to say goodbye. In honor of the Sparta house, I thought I would list some of my memories (not in any specific order, just listing random off the top of my head):

Wonderful Thanksgivings every year with the Furler family
Walking to the school bus at the end of the street to just ride across the street and up the hill to school
Watching my dad build a fire in the fireplace and standing on the front porch smelling the fire and snow on its way. Love the smell of snow.
Sneaking to my parent's room in the middle of the night (past the scary stairs!)
Relaxing on the deck with my mom & sisters
Sleepovers with Sarah
Turning the garage into a old fashioned General Store for my neighborhood friends to play in
Listening for my dad's whistle while playing outside after dark
Getting tucked in by my dad
Having my mom braid my hair at night to wake up with it all crimpy
Being able to recognize the sound of each family member coming down the stairs
When Corbett lived with us up over the garage (Sarah and I were amazed, shocked, and entertained for sure having a boy in the house! From going mudding in his truck to seeing him in his boxers!)
Looking at the glow in the dark stars up over the garage (Sarah made it so awesome!)
Learning how to parallel park in the street with garbage cans
The famous walk around the neighborhood across the street and Alpine School with my dad
How I named all the trees in my yard
Chasing after Sandy in the woods (not that fun but was good bonding time with my sisters!)
Climbing out bathroom window to sit on the roof for fun
All the critters who thought our house was good to move into and the adventure in getting them to find a new home including: squirrels, flying squirrels, bugs, mice, bears and other unmentionable & less attractive critters
Running down the stairs at Christmas with Laura and having to run back up to get Sarah :)
Christmas of 2010 with everybody together. All the grand kids and a perfect snow storm made a wonderful final memory of the Sparta house in my heart.
And many more random memories that I should add but this is just what comes to mind first without thinking too hard and crying. Oh and every time I dream and I am in a house it is always this house. Wonder if that will ever change.

Here is Drew and some favorite spots:

The creek and the stump :)
I loved that house and will treasure the memories forever. I look forward to the many new memories our family with have in Cape May with all the grand kids. Thanks Mom and Dad for making every house a home no matter where it is. I love you!
