Oh Happy Happiness

Drew loves this one song and video called "Happy Happy Happiness" from Sesame Street that is of a bunch of kids having a blast at the beach.  So we sing it all the time when we remember the fun we had in Florida two weeks ago.  Nana and Pops, the beach, Busch Gardens, meeting Elmo and friends...pretty much meant happiness every day for him on vacation!  Busch Gardens was really amazing and a lot more fun then I thought it would be for a toddler.  He had so much fun going on rides, driving his own car and watching the Sesame Street live show.  He was simply in awe of meeting Elmo, Big Bird, Super Grover, Cookie Monster, Zoe and Abby.  He was a little confused at why they weren't talking back to him when he said "Hi" or "Grover, look at my shirt! It is Super Grover!" but was satisfied to get a thumbs up from Grover after repeating himself like ten times :)  Even better was that when he was napping in the stroller Logan, Jerry and I got to go on three roller-coasters!
The beach was also a lot of fun because he was fearless with the waves and was jumping right into the water!  He got to swim out far with Logan and never wanted to get out.  At the hotel he had a great time "floating" with his new puddle jumper float from Nana.  He was getting so brave and I was so impressed since this was his first time in the water since last year!  Now I am definitely looking forward to this summer except I'm afraid he might be running in the water when I need more time to get in!  (I totally already used my mom's famous excuse "Mom doesn't have her bathing suit on today" a couple times! haha)
Here are some photos from our trip:

Fun at the Farm!

Drew's little friend Mia invited us (well Stacey her mom did) to go with them to one of our metro parks and we had a blast! I actually have a post from last year when Drew and I went with my parents around the same time. The park is a working farm with a barn full of animals plus a farm house with people pretending it is 100 years ago. It was so fun to see tiny baby piggies, lambs, horses, turkeys, chasing a funny barn yard chicken, tossing hay and playing in a tub of corn. I of course took tons of photos of the two cute farm kids. Mia is one of Drew's favorite friends. It is cute because I can tell he actually really enjoys being with her just for her. She doesn't have to have fun toys or siblings etc. She is just fun all by herself! And they actually get along too! And of course her parents are pretty great so we like their whole family! I love how Mia says, "Where's My Drew?" when she is looking for him and Drew likes to "Help Mia walk" by holding her hand. What a perfect way to celebrate Spring and Jesus' resurrection weekend!

New Mexico Fun!

Last week Drew and I went with my parents to New Mexico to visit my sister Laura, Corbett, Henry, Louisa and Clara! We had a great time and have tons of wonderful memories! Here are some quotes from Drew as he fondly remembers our trip:
(He says "remember" like "bobo or bubba" and it cracks me up)

"Bubba going on airplane with Grandma and Grandpa!" (He did so good thanks to my mom holding him the WHOLE time!)

"Bubba see cars from way up high!"

"Bubba goin' on blue train with Grandpa!" (at the Dallas Airport, photo of him believing he is really driving)

"Henry says, 'Wipe OUT!'" He loves his cousins especially when they are doing silly jumping tricks like Henry!

"Bubba Clara messy yogurt face!"

"Henry says, 'Let's play Hide-n-seek from Grandma!' In the closet!" What fun to have
a big kid actually want to play with you and show you how to hide!

"Bubba doin' markers!" They have a great easel to color on!

"Go on walk with Grandpa. See lams and horses!" (llamas and horses are everywhere in NM!)

"Uncle Corbett says, 'I'm freeeeezing'" "Guitar play music...Uncle Corbett!"

We had a great time and I could keep listing quotes forever. We went to two fun Children's Museums and Drew was amazed at all the great activities. They had a great time building a house with Grandpa, working together with pipes, and petting animals(notice Henry's face). Drew of course loved the tiny kids door! Since opening and shutting doors has always been one of his life passions :) We also took a train ride to Santa Fe for a fun afternoon. We checked out the cute little Albuquerque zoo and train of course and had fun going on a hunt for hippos with Henry as our guide. We loved getting to play in their new house and beautiful back yard (Aunt Laura even made a ramp for little cars!). It was so nice to see the sun for a week and be able to play outside. I am very thankful for my family, but am sad we live so far away!

Of course we missed Logan very much and Drew keeps saying, "I'm home!" when he sees him now (as if Logan were talking, not Drew)
Here are a million photos from the trip: For some reason I can't figure out how to label each photo so they will most likely be all mixed up which makes my perfectionism crazy! The photo of us in front of the big mountain is right in front of their house. And I think the dazed look and matching lips and hair of Louisa and Drew makes them look a lot alike! Enjoy!
